What's Included
FableFrog Premium unlocks a set of features designed for dedicated audiobook listeners. The free tier is fully functional for streaming and library management. Premium adds capabilities that power users will appreciate.
Offline Downloads
Download any audiobook from your library to your device for offline listening. All playback features work identically whether you're streaming or playing downloaded content. Download management, progress tracking, and failed download recovery are all included. See the Downloads & Offline guide for full details.
Smart Downloads
Automate your download workflow. Configure a listening threshold (5--30 minutes), and FableFrog automatically downloads books you're committed to. Optionally auto-remove finished downloads to keep your storage lean. Smart Downloads respect your Wi-Fi only preference and run silently in the background.
Listening Statistics
Get deep insight into your audiobook habits with interactive charts, genre breakdowns, top series rankings, speed savings tracking, and personalized fun facts. View daily, weekly, and monthly listening patterns. Browse your complete listening history with flexible grouping options. See the Statistics guide for everything available.
Additional Themes
Premium unlocks 16 additional themes beyond the four included in the free tier:
- Light: Parchment, Lilac, Electric, Terracotta, Rosé
- Dark: Nebula, Ocean, Forest, Espresso, Sunset, Lavender, Neon, Deep Sea, Mocha, Noir
- Accessibility: Pink-Teal (tritanopia)

Custom App Icons
Choose between three app icon variants (Neon (default), Sunset, and Forest) to personalize how FableFrog appears on your home screen. The default Neon icon is available to all users; Sunset and Forest require Premium.

FableFrog is a fully capable audiobook player at no cost. Premium is for users who want offline listening, statistics, and the full visual customization suite.
Purchasing Premium
Lifetime ($12)
A one-time purchase that unlocks Premium forever. No recurring charges, no expiration. Pay once and you're done. This is the best value for long-term users.
Annual ($8/year)
A yearly subscription managed through Apple. Renews automatically each year unless you cancel. This option has a lower upfront cost and provides the same features as the lifetime purchase.
How to Purchase
- Open FableFrog and go to Settings
- Tap Premium
- Choose either Lifetime or Annual
- Complete the purchase through Apple's in-app purchase flow
Your purchase is processed entirely by Apple. FableFrog does not handle payment information directly.
Offer Code Redemption
If you have a promo code or offer code for FableFrog Premium, you can redeem it from the Premium screen in Settings. Tap Redeem Offer Code and enter the code. Apple handles the redemption and applies the appropriate entitlement to your account.
Managing Your Subscription
Viewing Premium Status
Go to Settings > Premium to see your current Premium status, including whether you have a lifetime purchase or annual subscription and when it was activated.
Apple Subscription Management
If you purchased the annual subscription, it's managed through Apple's subscription system. To view, modify, or cancel your subscription:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone (the system Settings, not FableFrog)
- Tap your name at the top
- Tap Subscriptions
- Find FableFrog in the list
- From here you can cancel auto-renewal, change your plan, or view billing history
Alternatively, you can manage subscriptions directly from the App Store app under your account settings.
Restoring Purchases
If you reinstall FableFrog, get a new device, or your Premium status isn't reflected after purchase, tap Restore Purchases on the Premium screen. This queries Apple's servers for your purchase history and re-activates your entitlements.
Restoring purchases requires an active internet connection and uses the same Apple ID that made the original purchase.
