New
- Long Skip - Long Skip adds a second pair of skip buttons to the player and to the Apple Watch app. By default, each button jumps 5 minutes. You can set each direction to 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 minutes. Long Skip is off by default. To turn it on, go to Settings → Playback and turn on Show Long Skip Buttons. To change it for one book, use Book Settings
- Long Skip from Headphones, Shortcuts and the Action Button - You can set the headphone double-press to Long Skip Forward and the triple-press to Long Skip Back. The Shortcuts app has two new actions, Long skip forward and Long skip back. You can also put them on the Action Button. These actions work when the long skip buttons are hidden
- Speeds up to 5x - Playback speed now goes up to 5x. The speed selector has four new quick chips: 3.5x, 4x, 4.5x and 5x. On Apple Watch, the speed grid and the Digital Crown also go up to 5x
- Speed-Adjusted Time - At a speed other than 1x, the player shows the speed-adjusted time next to the remaining time. The speed-adjusted time is the real time that you need at your current speed. For example, at 1.5x the player shows "3hr 20m (2hr 13m)". It shows for the book and for the chapter. To hide it, turn off Show Speed-Adjusted Time in Settings → Playback. To hide it for one book, use Book Settings
- Sleep Timer on the Lock Screen - A running sleep timer shows a countdown on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. A paused timer shows Paused, and its countdown stops. An End of Chapter timer shows a book icon instead of a clock. The countdown goes away when the timer ends or when you cancel it
- Sleep Timer Fade-Out - At the end of a sleep timer, the sound fades out. Now you choose how long the fade-out is, from 5 seconds to 1 minute. The default is 15 seconds, which is the fixed fade-out of earlier versions. To change it, use Fade-Out Duration in Settings → Playback. To change it for one book, use Book Settings
- Release Setup - After the What's New screen, two setup steps let you choose the new settings. Player Controls turns speed-adjusted time and Long Skip on or off and sets the long skip times. Sleep Timer Fade-Out sets the fade-out duration
Improved
- Transcription After You Delete a Download - On iOS 26, the Transcription section on the book page stays visible after you delete the download. You can still view, export or remove the transcript. If the book has no transcript, the section tells you to download the book
- Player on Smaller iPhones - On smaller iPhones, such as iPhone SE, the cover gets smaller. The buttons at the bottom of the player are no longer cut off
Fixed
- Finished Books Leave Continue Listening - Finished books no longer stay in Continue Listening. If you listen to a finished book again, it goes back on the shelf with its check mark. The book still counts as read in your stats. If you play a finished book from the Library, CarPlay or Siri, it starts again from the beginning
- Progress Goes to the Correct Book - Progress from another device no longer goes to the wrong book. A finished book no longer changes back to Continue
- Play and Download Buttons at Large Text Sizes - At larger text sizes, the Play and Download buttons no longer break a word across two lines. If the label does not fit, the button shows only its icon
- Followed and Abandoned Series Stay - Followed and abandoned series no longer go missing. When you follow or abandon a series, FableFrog no longer loses other series
- Local Data Is Kept - If FableFrog cannot open its local data, it moves the data to a separate folder. Earlier versions deleted the data
